Former Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has accused the central government of engaging in what he described as "vindictive politics," alleging that it is attempting to systematically eliminate the Congress party. Chowdhury claimed that this intent is reflected in the prolonged questioning of senior Congress leaders by central agencies, stating that Sonia Gandhi was questioned for 10 hours and Rahul Gandhi for 55 hours. He said, "The Centre is deliberately trying to eliminate the Congress party," and added that the questioning was part of a "planned" approach to target opposition figures.
